Chaitra Navaratri - March 25 2020

Today is the first day of Chaitra (Vashant) Navaratri, the spring nine-night worship of the Goddess. This is a powerful time for personal sadhana such as japa, mediation, recitation and puja. May the All-Mother hear the prayers of Her children.

Today the manifestation of the Divine mother in the form of Shailaputri is observed and prayed. Divine Mother is depicted as a goddess who sits on Nandi and holds a lotus in the left hand and Trishul in her right and moon on her head.

She is also known from other names such as Sati, Parvati, Hemavati and Bhawani. The goddess is an absolute form of Mother Nature.
